Simin Esfahani, Ph.D.
Simin is a computer scientist with expertise in machine learning and data science. She holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from University of Victoria, BC. Her educational background also includes M.Sc. and B.Sc. degrees in Applied Mathematics from Iran. Simin has a wide range of experience working on diverse projects in social networks, medicine, oceanography, natural hazard, and biology. Using programming languages such as Java and Python, she has trained machine learning models for anatomy localization of Canine on X-ray images, detection of vessel wakes, generation of flood maps, detection of wood-boring insects in CT scans, analysis of COVID-19 cases, and analysis of injection induced seismicity. She has published her works in peer-reviewed conference and journal publications including International Conference on Data Engineering and Journal of Briefings in Bioinformatics.
